Blockchain was one of the buzzwords of 2018 and in this video, „Ask your hotel techie“, we’re interested in the technology and we look at how it could influence hotel distribution in the future. Using blockchain the flow of data can be decentralized and there is no longer any need for intermediaries. Today the most widespread application is the crypto-currency Bitcoin. But what potential does it have for hotel distribution? What is the basic logic behind the technology? What makes a private Blockchain? Will the hotel reservation be reinvented by it?

A lot of questions surrounding this technology are still open and I am curious as to when hotels can benefit from it.
