In this first ‘Ask your Hotel Techie’ video, we are going to deal with the online distribution of hotels. What are the best online distribution channels for my hotel?

In order to find out which online distribution channels are best for you, it’s helpful to think about the search behaviour of your guests.  Therefore, it is very important to be present on all platforms which your potential guests are using to search, in order to not be overlooked in the decision-making process. 

 

The ‘Billboard Effect’ describes the connection between the online presence of your hotel on OTA’s and the bookings made through your own website.  It is therefore advantageous to run a diversified online sales strategy. 

 

But what are the advantages and disadvantages of the different platforms?  

 

In this video, we will take a closer look at the big international OTA’s, as well as niche platforms, GDS, wholesalers and Metasearch engines.
